D-Day 60 on Castle Field Southsea with the Glen Miller UK Orchestra
This picture shows the D-Day 60 Entertainment Stage on Castle Field at Southsea. Technical Services made arrangements for the supply of this 20metre structure, supplied and wired the generators for the power, supplied, rigged and operated the lighting together with the supply of an extensive PA system. This was just one aspect of our involvement in D-Day 60. We also supplied the PA system for the Beat the Retreat, covered some two miles of waterfront on both sides of the harbour for the symbolic embarkation and provided sound for the Memorial service at the D-Day stone on the Sunday.
Opera in the Park
Victoria Park - Portsmouth is the location for "Opera in the Park" a Portsmouth City Council event bringing popular Arias to a pleasant summers evening setting. This event involves Technical Services in providing lighting for a small stage, a sound system for up to a thousand people, floodlighting and fancy lighting around the Park and power distribution from on site source.
Goodwood Revival Meeting
Another place to be in September is the Goodwood Revival meeting, if you go be prepared to be transported back in time to the 50s & 60s during the heyday of Motor Racing. Once you've soaked up the atmosphere then join us on the Start Line Stage for music of the era, Big Band, Skiffle & Jazz
Blues at the Abbey
Classic historic setting, top class acts, friendly atmosphere that's what you get with "Blues at the Abbey"
Take a Historic Ruin with no facilities and stage a full scale concert that's the challenge at Titchfield Abbey. The Titchfield Bonfire Boys run this event as one of their fund raising events for local charities, the stage is built by a local scaffolder as the restricted access makes it impossible to get any large trucks in. This same problem causes us a problem with generators so trailer mounted units are used towed in by Land Rover. As a back drop to the stage we floodlight the ruined Abbey inside and out. A substantial sound system is installed for the bands together with a stage lighting rig and engineers to operate the systems.
Blues at the Fort
Fort Purbrook on Portsdown Hill is the place to be in September for "Blues at the Fort" with great artists like the Blues Band
Taking place in the grounds of Fort Purbrook on top of Portsdown Hill, what would Lord Palmerston made of this use of one of his "Follies" built to protect us from the dastardly French threatening to attack us! This is another "local charities" event and the organisers arrange for three large clearspan marquees all linked together to be erected in the fort grounds. Basic stage lighting is supplied, which they install themselves, we supply, install and engineer a 10kW PA for the bands.
Southsea Bandstand
What can I say about Southsea Bandstand Season, this is a free Portsmouth City Council event, it starts on the end of May Bank Holiday Monday each year and then runs every Sunday to August Bank Holiday Monday. Technical Services is there for everyone providing whatever PA is required for the wide and diverse variety of acts appearing. The first and last Bank Holiday events are normally much bigger affairs and for these stages, lighting, generators etc. have to be supplied.
Riviera Rock & Roll
We even get to go to the Riviera ----- well, the Cornish one!! Twice a year we have a weekend in Paignton from Friday to Sunday, 8kW PA system, three bands a night and solid 50s nostalgia.
Call Technical Services - we can make the difference between success & failure for your event
